ABOUT SARAH DI LORENZO (SDL)
I passionately believe that life is short and that our best lives must be lived in the present, every single day.
My journey towards vibrant health began as a teenager. With a specialist doctor for a father and a nurse for a mother, good health and caring for others were mantras in my family. At an early age I heard the quote “Let food be thy medicine”, and I took it to heart.
When I was 15, I began to suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I hated how it affected the quality of my life, so began exploring how to resolve it through diet. Through an elimination process, I found that removing gluten and yeast made a huge difference, and my life-long interest in nutritional medicine was born. I became so passionate about it that I transitioned from my intended path into marine archaeology to become a qualified Clinical Nutritionist.
Another push in this direction came from my work in the modelling industry, where I met many people with unhappy relationships with food. This saddened me, and I became determined to unlock the secret of how to eat well and achieve a healthy weight while feeling great about it.
I have three daughters, whom I raise as a single parent. I understand the daily juggle of work, kids, after-school activities, relationships, and trying to find time to exercise, keep a home and see friends and family. But I also know from experience that where there is a will, there is a way. I passionately believe in being your best self and being supportive of others.
Today, I’ve taken two decades of work in the wellness and fitness industry, more than 10 years of experience working in a private psychiatric clinic setting, my understanding of childhood nutrition, an Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine and brought it together in my own private clinic in Bondi. I have written two programmes SDL Method Weight Loss For Life and SDL 2 Week Mini Detox. I’ve also been the exclusive nutritionist and staff wellness consultant to several companies.
I was Resident Nutritionist at a fantastic radio show, Talking Lifestyle, on every Friday at 1.10pm discussing so many areas of nutritional medicine from 2017 - 2018. Talking Lifestyle is with 2UE, the Macquarie Network and broadcasted in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane as well can be watched live where I am in the studio on their website.
Since July 2018 I have been doing regular nutrition segments on Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise, Channel 7 Network and I love it, sharing nutritional information really is such a great feeling.
I have a strong belief in all aspects of wellness, including rest, social connection, self-expression, intellect, spirituality, exercise, diet and nutrition. Being able to see the tangible rewards in my clients’ lives is what drives me, and my greatest pleasure is seeing people become their best selves.
